From Professional Athlete to Strategic Consultant: A Journey Rooted in Representation

I’m Cole Woods, a former professional athlete, international model, business owner, and tech professional turned strategic consultant. My journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to inclusivity and representation in industries where women of color are often underrepresented.

My Story

From Courts to Catwalks

As a professional athlete, I developed discipline, strategy, and teamwork—skills that now fuel my approach to business development and partnerships. Competing at the highest level taught me how to navigate challenges with resilience and precision, qualities I bring to every client collaboration.

During my career as an international model, I took an unconventional path, remaining a free agent throughout. This approach required me to rely heavily on strategic partnerships and networking to secure opportunities with major brands and productions. My experience in building authentic connections and leveraging relationships was transformative, teaching me the value of self-reliance and the power of collaboration—lessons I now apply to empower women entrepreneurs.

At the same time, my work as a model gave me a front-row seat to the beauty and fashion industries, but it also revealed the glaring lack of diversity within them. Representing as one of the few Black women on international stages inspired me to advocate for greater representation and inclusion. This firsthand experience ignited my passion to elevate Black voices and ensure that Black women are not just seen but celebrated in beauty, tech, and beyond.

The Birth of The Modelpreneur Bootcamp

In 2018, I founded The Modelpreneur Bootcamp, a venture designed to empower young women of color by equipping them with the tools to succeed in fashion, beauty, and entrepreneurship. From producing editorials to partnering with Paris Fashion Week, this initiative has evolved into a full-scale project dedicated to fostering confidence, creativity, and community among the next generation of trailblazers.

Tech Meets Aesthetics

My transition into the tech world allowed me to combine my creative and analytical strengths, focusing on innovation and problem-solving. This experience deepened my understanding of how technology can transform beauty and how women of color can contribute at this intersection.

The Philosophy of Empowerment

Now, as the founder of Beauty, Brain & Brawn Consulting, I bring these experiences together to help inclusive beauty tech brands and beauty communities thrive. My mission is to break barriers, foster innovation, and create spaces where Black excellence is not only celebrated but expected.

Representation matters—not just in front of the camera, but behind the scenes, in boardrooms, innovation labs, and leadership roles. Through my work, I aim to ensure that women entrepreneurs of color in beauty tech have the resources, connections, and visibility they deserve to build legacies of success.
